More than ten years ago, Gala-Gala began as a vision on the outskirts of Ponta do Ouro. Today, it is a peaceful eco retreat shaped by nature, community and genuine Mozambican hospitality.

OUR JOURNEY
From a Simple Vision to a Place Rooted in Nature
More than ten years ago, the journey to create Gala-Gala Eco Resort began on the outskirts of the small village of Ponta do Ouro in southern Mozambique.
Since then, the resort has grown into the peaceful and beautiful environment it is today. As Gala-Gala developed, there was always a strong focus on supporting the local community by sourcing materials locally and creating work opportunities for local men and women.
From the beginning, eco-friendly principles formed an important part of the resort. Care was taken to protect the natural surroundings and give back to nature wherever possible. Today, the trees are alive with birds and butterflies, while the sounds of nature can be heard throughout the evening.
