A Conservation Success Story
This achievement is more than a title—it’s the result of decades of dedication by conservationists, communities, and global partners. Established in 2021 through the merging of the Ponta do Ouro Partial Marine Reserve and the Maputo Special Reserve, the park forms a vital ecological bridge with South Africa’s iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
